Trip to Scotland and Ireland by car | North Cape
A month is the time we have to go through these two countries. For me to start a trip out of the house to the airport, meterme on the plane, and appear after a few hours at the destination, pérdeme part of the essence of the trip. Then we took another tube ferry to Ireland to enjoy another 11 days until we boarded a ferry to third Roscoff in Brittany and from there back home by road. The route describireino as a travelogue, ie commenting day by day, including addition, all data kilometers, accommodations and prices throughout the day spent per day for two people, making it all but mild with photographs did on the trip.
The ferry to Portsmouth saíanos Bilbo on the 29th at 1 pm, that's why we started the trip the day before. So that day we take the morning to finish preparing the luggage and do some transactions related to travel. We left after lunch and did almost 500 miles to Bilbao, where we arrived as night. Sleep in a hotel Formule 1 hotel chain very famous in France, where for just 35 you have a double room very well equipped, but with shared bathroom.
As the ferry does not leave until 1 pm, we can still have breakfast quietly and do some shopping in a mall next to the hotel, mainly to buy provisions, tube because as we said the food at the ferry is expensive and not very good for you we are used to, so you better make a good breakfast and then survive more than 24 hours a sandwich and fruit. He also took the opportunity to fill the tank, as the diesel in the UK is more expensive.
With advancement of time we got to the port of Santurtzi, specifically to the peak number 3, which is where the ferry leaves and is very well signposted, and from the A8 motorway. Once you park the car in the warehouse, we leave the luggage in the cabin (once the boat out, you can not go down to the car).
The boat leaves on time, and shortly after starting, once we move away from the land under the cabin. We chose a double cabin and exterior, since spending 29 hours set out in a boat cabin interior becomes somewhat claustrophobic, and besides, the price difference was not much. We paid a total of 487, which includes tickets for 2 adults, car and cabin outside, and do not consider the excessive considering that the two ferries from Santander who left were more expensive
